The Canon FD 55mm f1.2 introduced in 1971 can truly be considered the first of the modern high-speed lenses as it combined the essential features:

Modern optical design with mirror reflex clearance.

Aspherical surface to control spherical aberration.

Multi-layer anti reflective coatings.

Double-Gauss design with 8 elements in 6 groups.

It is believed that the canon k35 lenses are derived from this high-speed Canon FD-l lenses.  This makes sense as the cost of designing complex high-speed lenses with aspherical elements would not have been cost effective.

FD 24mm f1.4 L = K35 24mm T1.6

FD 55mm f1.2 L = K35 55mm T1.4
